LEADERS honor the BIBLE

Hebrews 4:12

King James Version

12 For the word of God is quick,

and powerful,

and sharper than any twoedged sword,

piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit,

and of the joints and marrow,

and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

What do leaders from the past, think of the Bible?

What have they said, in honor of God's WORD?

Here are a few quotes gathered by the late Chuck Missler:

"It is impossible to rightly govern the world

without God and the Bible."

  -- George Washington

"I believe the Bible is the best gift God has ever given to man.

All the good from the Saviour of the world

is communicated to us through this book."

  -- Abraham Lincoln

"The Bible is worth all the other books

which have ever been printed."

  -- Patrick Henry

"The Bible is no mere book,

but it is a Living Creature,

with a power that conquers all that oppose it."

  -- Napoleon Bonaparte

"If we abide by the principles taught in the Bible,

our country will go on prospering and to prosper;

but if we and our posterity

neglect its instructions and authority,

no man call tell how sudden a catastrophe

may overwhelm us

and bury  all our glory in profound obscurity."

  -- Daniel Webster

The PEOPLE's preacher

1 Corinthians 16:13

King James Version

13 Watch ye,

stand fast in the faith,

quit you like men,

be strong.

On 28 September 2019, The HOLY SPIRIT led me to a sermon by Charles H. Spurgeon.

That was my first encounter with this preacher's riveting sermon, which was beautifully read.

Today -- nearly 28 months after -- SPIRIT led me to a life movie on the "People's Preacher".

I came to appreciate God's champion even more, viewing his beginnings, and travails, in Victorian England.

Amazingly, Spurgeon started as a teen preacher, ordained by God to preach to multitudes.

But there came a time, a battle of two Charles occurred.

Charles Darwin, the scientist, versus Charles Spurgeon, the preacher.

Of course, the media mocked God's preacher.

But Spurgeon went on to teach the WORD of GOD for 40 years, until his death in 1892, at age 57.

The narrator informs that Spurgeon had preached to over 10 million people.

Even as he passed on, his sermons continue to live on.

Such is the power of GOD's WORD in the faithful, and those who thirst for His WORD.

Rare, and far between, are preachers totally devoted to the WORD of GOD, unswerving in their faith, and devotion.

Here are a few of Charles Spurgeon's sermons:

BEST Approach to UNDERSTANDING the BIBLE

PARADOX:

The deeper I go,

the clearer Scripture becomes.

What is it about being a kid, when it comes to understanding God?

Or even studying His Word?

Somehow, things seem pretty clear, even as I'm a baby Christian.

So, I'm careful I don't let anyone interpret the Bible for me, EXCEPT for the Holy Spirit of God.

He alone must teach me.

Only He can shed LIGHT on SCRIPTURE.

We humans come from all kinds of cultures, conditioning, and pre-conceived notions.

Our knowledge has been corrupted.

Only by approaching God, as an eager child, could we really get to know Him.

I found:

The more child-like I am,

the simpler God's WORD becomes.

And the more

GOD reveals His treasures.

We are to become like little children -- knowing nothing, but wanting to know EVERYTHING about God.

I found that to be the best approach to God.

Jesus did say:

Matthew 18:3

King James Version

3 And said,

Verily I say unto you,

Except ye be converted,

and become as little children,

ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

If we are to understand Scripture, we must first surrender to God, in eager anticipation.

For the world has played around with our hearts, and minds, and it's now time to surrender to the ONLY ONE who really knows everything.

Pretend you've tied a white handkerchief on a pencil, and waving it up at God, hoping He'd show up.

He likes sincere, and playful hearts.

How He abhors the wisdom of the world!

1 Corinthians 3:19

King James Version

19 For the wisdom of this world

is foolishness with God

For it is written,

He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

For God knows what that type of wisdom stands for.

1 Corinthians 3:20

King James Version

20 And again,

The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise,

that they are vain.

We become teachable when we are child-like, simple, humble, trusting, caring to know the two W's of God:

WILL

WORD

Then, we can effectively do the third W:

WORSHIP

It's really the only way to understand God, Scripture, and all the ways of Jesus:

Seek God.

Become trusting, and child-like with God.

Be willing to learn.

Be willing to obey.

Fear Him.

Be proud of Him.

Focus on Him.

Pray for clarity.

Be born again.

Listen to His Holy Spirit.

Believe in His Son, Jesus.

Thank God for His blessings.

Be perfect, like Him.

Learn to love, as He does.

Find that child-like spot in your heart, let go of the corrupted ways of the world, and make a home for Jesus, for He will surely come knockin'.

And your life will forever be changed.

In ways only God would know.

Consider it your GREATEST adventure -- EVER.

SOLE Reference

Psalm 119:97

King James Version

97 O how love I thy law!

it is my meditation all the day.

How beautiful each day becomes!

When the WORD of GOD guides you.

When, for every question, you seek the Lord's instructions.

ONLY the Lord's instructions.

If you've been born again, you'd know what the world asks of you, is in total opposition to God's commands.

And even that, being born again, must be precise -- according to JESUS' instructions.

For there are many born again, but who really follows the WORD of GOD faithfully, without excuses, or alibis?

Who can really understand Christ?

Only those who have read God's WORD, guided by His HOLY SPIRIT, for it is Spirit who will teach you.

Once the Holy Spirit is upon you, you will be forever changed.

I know it for myself.

There is no looking back.

Only a digging deeper into Scripture.

Making sure your heart is right, with the LORD.

There can only be authenticity.

I suppose the title of this post can also be SOUL Reference.

You see?

Who taught me that?

Only the Holy Spirit of God.

Whatever God gave me, the Holy Spirit uses, for I am in His service.

The day we were born, God knew our mission.

The only difference is if we'll know it, remember it, look for it, ask about it, or even care about it.

When the world fails us, we turn back to God.

He's always been there, no matter what.

He is infallible, strong, steady, mighty, powerful, faithful, and loving.

The Bible attests to all that.

How else can we know, unless we ask God to make things clear for us?

That's actually the first step back to God.

Humility.

Surrender.

Watch how God will come upon your life, and make things right for you.

There is no pride in heaven.

There is only PRAISE for GOD.

We do not serve the world.

We must only serve God.

Only by becoming born again, and reading Scripture, can we know things of God.

After that, all become clear.

We get strength from JESUS.

Life blossoms differently and beautifully.

Each one of us becomes a hope for the other.

As we share how the WORD  of GOD has changed our life.

JESUS is the WORD.

Revelation 19:13 (KJV)

13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood:

and his name is called The Word of God.

Let the WORD of GOD -- JESUS -- be our SOLE reference on EVERYTHING!

How Can Anyone Not LOVE the BIBLE?

Matthew 22:29

King James Version

29 Jesus answered and said unto them

Ye do err,

not knowing the scriptures,

nor the power of God.

How can anyone not love the Bible -- the WORD of GOD?

How can anyone even doubt it?

The moment I gave my heart to Jesus -- in private -- no fanfare, and all, I was immediately drawn to the Bible.

I've been paying attention to the WORD of GOD for nearly 16 months now, and am constantly in awe at the BEAUTY, POWER, and PRECISION of GOD's WORD.

The Bible testifies to the Bible.

Watch what it says:

John 1:1-5 (KJV)

1 In the beginning was the Word,

and the Word was with God,

and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by him;

and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4 In him was life;

and the life was the light of men.

5 And the light shineth in darkness;

and the darkness comprehended it not.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (KJV)

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God

and is profitable for doctrine,

for reproof,

for correction,

for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect,

thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

2 Timothy 1:8-10 (KJV)

8 Be not thou therefore ashamed

of the testimony of our Lord

nor of me his prisoner:

but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel

according to the power of God;

9 Who hath saved us,

and called us with an holy calling,

not according to our works,

but according to his own purpose and grace,

which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

10 But is now made manifest

by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ,

who hath abolished death,

and hath brought life and immortality to light

through the gospel:

Matthew 4:4 (KJV)

4 But he answered and said,

It is written,

Man shall not live by bread alone,

but by every word that proceedeth

out of the mouth of God.

Hebrews 4:12 (KJV)

12 For the word of God is quick,

and powerful

and sharper than any twoedged sword,

piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit,

and of the joints and marrow,

and is a discerner

of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Revelation 19:11-15 (KJV)

11 And I saw heaven opened,

and behold a white horse;

and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True,

and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

12 His eyes were as a flame of fire,

and on his head were many crowns;

and he had a name written,

that no man knew,

but he himself.

13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood:

and his name is called The Word of God.

Ephesians 1:12-14 (KJV)

12 That we should be to the praise of his glory,

who first trusted in Christ.

13 In whom ye also trusted,

after that ye heard the word of truth,

the gospel of your salvation

in whom also after that ye believed,

ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance

until the redemption of the purchased possession,

unto the praise of his glory.

Psalm 119:140 (KJV)

140 Thy word is very pure

therefore thy servant loveth it.

Psalm 119:97 (KJV)

97 O how love I thy law!

it is my meditation all the day.

Isaiah 40:8 (KJV)

8 The grass withereth,

the flower fadeth:

but the word of our God

shall stand for ever.

The WORKMAN

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God,

a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,

rightly dividing the word of truth."

2 Timothy 2:15

King James Version

I am a seeker of God's TRUTH, and I was led to the BIBLE, the King James Version.

Now, it is my ONLY reference of what was, what is, and what is to come.

The HOLY SPIRIT of GOD taught me to "divide" the "word of truth" by words, taking it a word at a time, or by phrases.

Thus, you may find it strange that God's VERSES appear the way they do on my blogs.

It's how GOD taught me to study His WORDS, and to present it to you.

You will also find that some fonts are larger than others, as if by design.

That is not my design.

It is God's.

That is also how He wants to teach us.

He emphasizes what matters most -- especially in these crucial times.

JESUS is the WORD of GOD, and His EVERY word matters.

13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood:

and his name is called The Word of God.

Revelation 19:13

ing James Version

I am being taught happily, and beautifully.

Only because my heart is open.

May your heart be open to know more about GOD, too!

Being taught this way by God helps me understand better.

Now I know the POWER of EACH word that came from God, or were INSPIRED by GOD.

My blogs serve GOD.

I am a workman, and I serve JESUS alone.

20 According to my earnest expectation and my hope,

that in nothing I shall be ashamed,

but that with all boldness,

as always,

so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body,

whether it be by life,

or by death.

Philippians 1:20 KJV
