The number 24

Psalm 25:4-5

King James Version

4 Shew me thy ways, O Lord;

teach me thy paths.

5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me:

for thou art the God of my salvation;

on thee do I wait all the day.

What is the significance of the number "24"?

It all started with JESUS.

SPIRIT led me to the LORD's prophecy:

Matthew 24:24

King James Version

24 For there shall arise false Christs,

and false prophets,

and shall shew great signs and wonders;

insomuch that, if it were possible,

they shall deceive the very elect.

I couldn't help but notice the two "24".

And I just realized today is 24 May 2024.

What would the books of the Bible reveal about the 24th chapter and its 24th verse, on this 24th day of the year '24?

I felt like looking into it, curious child that I am.

Here are relevant verses for these times:

Numbers 24:24

King James Version

24 And ships shall come from the coast of Chittim,

and shall afflict Asshur,

and shall afflict Eber,

and he also shall perish for ever.

Joshua 24:24

King James Version

24 And the people said unto Joshua,

The Lord our God will we serve,

and his voice will we obey.

2 Samuel 24:24

King James Version

24 And the king said unto Araunah,

Nay;

but I will surely buy it of thee at a price:

neither will I offer burnt offerings

unto the Lord my God

of that which doth cost me nothing.

So David bought the threshingfloor

and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver.

2 Chronicles 24:24

King James Version

24 For the army of the Syrians came

with a small company of men,

and the Lord delivered a very great host

into their hand,

because they had forsaken

the Lord God of their fathers.

So they executed judgment against Joash.

Proverbs 24:24

King James Version

24 He that saith unto the wicked,

Thou are righteous;

him shall the people curse,

nations shall abhor him:

Ezekiel 24:24

King James Version

24 Thus Ezekiel is unto you a sign:

according to all that he hath done shall ye do:

and when this cometh,

ye shall know that I am the Lord God.

Luke 24:24

King James Version

24 And certain of them which were with us

went to the sepulchre,

and found it even so as the women had said:

but him they saw not.

Acts 24:24

King James Version

24 And after certain days,

when Felix came with his wife Drusilla,

which was a Jewess,

he sent for Paul, and heard him

concerning the faith in Christ.

In "Keys to Scripture Numerics", the number "24" is associated with "PRIESTHOOD".

It says David distributed the priesthood among 24 of the descendants of Aaron:

"Among the sons of Eleazar there were SIXTEEN chief men, and of the sons of Ithamar there were EIGHT chief men."

The book quoted 1 Chronicles 24:1-18.

It also pointed out the 24 elders in the Book of Revelation:

Revelation 4:4

King James Version

4 And round about the throne

were four and twenty seats:

and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting,

clothed in white raiment;

and they had on their heads crowns of gold.

Other verses on the 24 elders:

Revelation 4:10-11

King James Version

10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him

that sat on the throne,

and worship him that liveth for ever and ever,

and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,

11 Thou art worthy, O Lord,

to receive glory and honour and power:

for thou hast created all things,

and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

PROTECTORS of SCRIPTURE

Galatians 1:8-9

King James Version

8 But though we, or an angel from heaven,

preach any other gospel unto you

than that which we have preached unto you,

let him be accursed.

9 As we said before, so say I now again,

if any man preach any other gospel unto you

than that ye have received,

let him be accursed.

There are many unsung heroes who loved the Bible.

We must not forget them, for they gave up their lives.

And how they were challenged by the Roman Catholic church.

But they never gave up their faith.

It's time we looked into how the Bible evolved.

As well as the men, and women, who protected it.

Making sure the integrity of GOD's WORD was preserved.

Who are those who truly loved Scripture?

Who are those who tried to squelch its propagation?

How can we know about them?

The HOLY SPIRIT led me to a remarkable video last night.

From which, I was able to gather all I needed to know.

Or, at least, the basic framework for future studies.

These links you'll find very useful, and enlightening.

Propagation of GOD's WORD:

Albigensians -- interestingly, and as to be expected, there is no positive material on the Albigensians. It's as if the world wanted to totally wipe out their existence, or contribution. And yet, we shall find, they may have played an important part in the furtherance of GOD's WORD.

Ironically, it's only through a section of the Inquisitor's Manual of Bernard Gui, as shared by Fordham University, that we learn anything fair about the Albigensians.

Waldensians

Lollard movement

John Wycliffe

Hussites

Jan Hus

Proto-Protestantism

Reformation

Erasmus

Martin Luther

William Tyndale

Coverdale Bible

Myles Coverdale

Great Bible

Edward VI

Lady Jane Grey

John Calvin

John Knox

Geneva Bible

King James Version

Elizabeth I

Abraham Lincoln

John Cumming (clergyman)

Ian Paisley

In contrast, those who propagated Catholicism:

Catholic Church

Inquisition

Pope Innocent III

Mary I of England

Charles I of England

Pope Nicholas I

Pope Pius X

Jesuits

Ignatius of Loyola

Michelangelo Tamburini

Counter-Reformation

Council of Trent

Gunpowder Plot

Henry Edward Manning

Second Vatican Council

John Henry Newman

Oxford Movement

It's truly a cosmic battle.

A battle of the WORD, versus the world.

Especially in these end times.

But we all know JESUS will conquer all.

It's all been prophesied.

GOOD NEWS for BELIEVERS

Matthew 18:1-5

King James Version

18 At the same time

came the disciples unto Jesus, saying,

Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?

2 And Jesus called a little child unto him,

and set him in the midst of them,

3 And said,

Verily I say unto you,

Except ye be converted,

and become as little children,

ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself

as this little child,

the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

5 And whoso shall receive

one such little child in my name

receiveth me.

What can believers look forward to?

What are the promises JESUS gave us?

First, who are believers?

JESUS explains it best:

John 17:2-3

King James Version

2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh,

that he should give eternal life

to as many as thou hast given him.

3 And this is life eternal,

that they might know thee the only true God,

and Jesus Christ,

whom thou hast sent.

Many people resent the gospel.

Many people don't believe.

Many don't want to believe.

Many become fearful when they hear of GOD's wrath.

This verse applies to those who believe:

John 10:27

King James Version

27 My sheep hear my voice,

and I know them,

and they follow me:

GOD's wrath applies to the wicked.

And those who deliberately deceive others.

Believers can expect GOOD NEWS from CHRIST.

Here's what born agains have been promised:

Eternal life

The Rapture

Salvation

Resurrection

Citizenship in Heaven

Kingdom of Heaven

GOD's Holy Hill

The New Jerusalem

BIBLE as REFERENCE

Psalm 119:97

King James Version

97 O how love I thy law!

it is my meditation all the day.

There are many smart people on earth.

But no one can out-smart GOD.

He is the CREATOR, after all.

I've always known, and acknowledged, that.

But since He made me born again in 2019, proof from the Bible exceeded all my initial thoughts.

The day I first started really studying the Bible over three years ago, was the day I dropped ALL other books, and ideas.

The Bible had become my MAIN reference for everything.

Whether on GOD, JESUS, the HOLY SPIRIT, life, work, people, past, present, and future.

No one can match the Bible's TRUTH.

Which happens to be ABSOLUTE truth.

Something I had been seeking, for the longest time.

Not realizing it had been right under my nose the whole time.

How deeply humbled I was by the GLORY of GOD.

Now, I would not touch any other book, unless it had GOD in it.

The Bible had become my go-to.

For anything, and everything.

If you are still reading other literature, or checking out other gurus, hoping to get enlightenment, clarity, peace, love, joy, contentment, and fulfillment, you need only to seek GOD with all your heart.

He will do the rest.

He will lead you to the Bible.

The Bible will lead you to JESUS.

JESUS will lead you to the HOLY SPIRIT, as witness.

The HOLY SPIRIT will lead you to JESUS.

JESUS will lead you back to GOD.

It becomes a seamless whole.

And you shall find, all three are ONE.

1 John 5:7

King James Version

7 For there are three that bear record in heaven,

the Father,

the Word,

and the Holy Ghost:

and these three are one.

But you couldn't have known that.

Until the HOLY SPIRIT taught you about Scripture.

Scripture is about JESUS.

JESUS is the WORD of GOD.

As you saw in the previous verse, and in this verse:

John 1:14

King James Version

14 And the Word was made flesh,

and dwelt among us,

(and we beheld his glory,

the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,)

full of grace and truth.

The HOLY SPIRIT teaches us everything about JESUS.

John 14:26

King James Version

26 But the Comforter,

which is the Holy Ghost,

whom the Father will send in my name,

he shall teach you all things,

and bring all things to your remembrance,

whatsoever I have said unto you.

You see, the Bible is really all about JESUS.

How everything was created for Him.

Colossians 1:16-20

King James Version

16 For by him were all things created,

that are in heaven,

and that are in earth,

visible and invisible,

whether they be thrones, or dominions,

or principalities, or powers:

all things were created by him,

and for him:

17 And he is before all things,

and by him all things consist.

18 And he is the head of the body,

the church:

who is the beginning,

the firstborn from the dead;

that in all things he might have the preeminence.

19 For it pleased the Father

that in him should all fulness dwell;

20 And,

having made peace through the blood of his cross,

by him to reconcile all things unto himself;

by him, I say,

whether they be things in earth,

or things in heaven.

Only by being born again, can we know things of the SPIRIT.

John 3:5-7

King James Version

5 Jesus answered,

Verily, verily, I say unto thee,

Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit,

he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh;

and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

7 Marvel not that I said unto thee,

Ye must be born again.

GOD already gave me His material.

Simple BIBLE primer

The LORD JESUS said:

Luke 11:28

King James Version

28 But he said,

Yea rather,

blessed are they

that hear the word of God,

and keep it.

What is the Bible?

Why does it matter so much?

Why must we live by the Bible?

Here's a brief summary of its importance.

The Bible answers us, through these verses.

Who wrote the Bible?

2 Timothy 3:16

King James Version

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God

What is the Bible for?

2 Timothy 3:16

King James Version

and is profitable for doctrine,

for reproof,

for correction,

for instruction in righteousness:

2 Timothy 3:17

King James Version

17 That the man of God may be perfect,

thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

1 Peter 2:2

King James Version

2 As newborn babes,

desire the sincere milk of the word,

that ye may grow thereby:

What power does the WORD of GOD have?

Hebrews 4:12

King James Version

12 For the word of God is quick,

and powerful,

and sharper than any twoedged sword,

piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit,

and of the joints and marrow,

and is a discerner of the thoughts

and intents of the heart.

Proverbs 2:6

King James Version

6 For the Lord giveth wisdom:

out of his mouth cometh knowledge

and understanding.

Isaiah 40:8

King James Version

8 The grass withereth,

the flower fadeth:

but the word of our God

shall stand for ever.

Matthew 24:35

King James Version

35 Heaven and earth shall pass away,

but my words shall not pass away.

John 5:39-40

King James Version

39 Search the scriptures;

for in them ye think ye have eternal life:

and they are they which testify of me.

40 And ye will not come to me,

that ye might have life.

John 6:63

King James Version

63 It is the spirit that quickeneth;

the flesh profiteth nothing:

the words that I speak unto you,

they are spirit,

and they are life.

GLORIOUS GOSPEL of GOD

1 Corinthians 14:33

King James Version

33 For God is not the author of confusion,

but of peace,

as in all churches of the saints.

What draws a person to Scripture?

What makes us understand the WORD of GOD?

What makes Scripture the WORD of GOD?

Why do people avoid reading the Bible?

What makes for easy comprehension?

What does it mean to live by the Bible?

Here's where the SPIRIT of GOD led me about Scripture.

What the Bible is for:

2 Timothy 3:16-17

King James Version

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God,

and is profitable for doctrine,

for reproof,

for correction,

for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect,

thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

1 Timothy 1:8-11

King James Version

8 But we know that the law is good,

if a man use it lawfully;

9 Knowing this,

that the law is not made for a righteous man,

but for the lawless and disobedient,

for the ungodly and for sinners,

for unholy and profane,

for murderers of fathers and

murderers of mothers,

for manslayers,

10 For whoremongers,

for them that defile themselves with mankind,

for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons,

and if there be any other thing

that is contrary to sound doctrine;

11 According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God

which was committed to my trust.

1 Corinthians 1:18

King James Version

18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish

foolishness;

but unto us which are saved

it is the power of God.

Hebrews 4:12

King James Version

12 For the word of God is quick,

and powerful,

and sharper than any twoedged sword,

piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit,

and of the joints and marrow,

and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Why people don't believe:

2 Corinthians 11:3

King James Version

3 But I fear,

lest by any means,

as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty,

so your minds should be corrupted

from the simplicity that is in Christ.

2 Corinthians 4:4

King James Version

4 In whom the god of this world

hath blinded the minds of them which believe not,

lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ,

who is the image of God,

should shine unto them.

How we are to treat the WORD of GOD:

Titus 2:7-8

King James Version

7 In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works:

in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,

8 Sound speech, that cannot be condemned;

that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed,

having no evil thing to say of you.

2 Corinthians 4:2

King James Version

2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty,

not walking in craftiness,

nor handling the word of God deceitfully;

but by manifestation of the truth

commending ourselves to every man's conscience

in the sight of God.

How to understand the Bible easily:

John 3:5-7

King James Version

5 Jesus answered,

Verily, verily, I say unto thee,

Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit,

he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh;

and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

7 Marvel not that I said unto thee,

Ye must be born again.

Matthew 18:3

King James Version

3 And said,

Verily I say unto you,

Except ye be converted,

and become as little children,

ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

John 14:26

King James Version

26 But the Comforter,

which is the Holy Ghost,

whom the Father will send in my name,

he shall teach you all things,

and bring all things to your remembrance,

whatsoever I have said unto you.

John 15:26

King James Version

26 But when the Comforter is come,

whom I will send unto you from the Father,

even the Spirit of truth,

which proceedeth from the Father,

he shall testify of me:

There is nothing more beautiful than to be born again, that one may understand the laws of GOD.

Then, you will know how to live.

How to love.

How to work.

How to be.

LEADERS honor the BIBLE

Hebrews 4:12

King James Version

12 For the word of God is quick,

and powerful,

and sharper than any twoedged sword,

piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit,

and of the joints and marrow,

and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

What do leaders from the past, think of the Bible?

What have they said, in honor of God's WORD?

Here are a few quotes gathered by the late Chuck Missler:

"It is impossible to rightly govern the world

without God and the Bible."

  -- George Washington

"I believe the Bible is the best gift God has ever given to man.

All the good from the Saviour of the world

is communicated to us through this book."

  -- Abraham Lincoln

"The Bible is worth all the other books

which have ever been printed."

  -- Patrick Henry

"The Bible is no mere book,

but it is a Living Creature,

with a power that conquers all that oppose it."

  -- Napoleon Bonaparte

"If we abide by the principles taught in the Bible,

our country will go on prospering and to prosper;

but if we and our posterity

neglect its instructions and authority,

no man call tell how sudden a catastrophe

may overwhelm us

and bury  all our glory in profound obscurity."

  -- Daniel Webster
